Ils jouent à ces jeux pour toutes sortes de raisons : pour éviter d'affronter la réalité, pour cacher des motifs profonds, pour rationaliser leurs activités, ou pour rester "en dehors du coup". Ces jeux - sauf quand ils se révèlent destructeurs - sont à la fois souhaitables et nécessaires. Le docteur Berne présente une analyse fascinante de trente-six jeux qu'il classe sous diverses rubriques : les "jeux vitaux" qui transcendent un mode spécifique de réaction dans une situation donnée, et affectent chaque action du joueur; les "jeux conjugaux", auxquels deux personnes peuvent recourir afin de supporter une vie de frustration ou d'insatisfaction (un jeu conjugal des plus joués est celui de "la femme frigide", où l'un des deux joueurs provoque une discussion menant à la colère, à l'aliénation des sentiments, pour éviter les rapports sexuels); les "jeux sexuels", où quelqu'un provoque des réactions sexuelles chez quelqu'un d'autre, puis, agit comme si lui ou elle était la victime innocente; les "jeux de société", sociaux par définition, et qui vont du cancan perpétuel au gémissement chronique; les "jeux des bas-fonds" tel que "aux gendarmes et aux voleurs", pratiqués le plus souvent pour des gains matériels, mais pouvant aussi viser à des avantages psychologiques; les "jeux du cabinet de consultation", peuvent être joués par un malade avec un médecin afin d'éviter la guérison. Le docteur Berne, poursuit dans cet ouvrage le développement et l'élaboration d'un concept qu'il a déjà décrit pour le spécialiste, et qu'il emploie dans son nouveau système de psychiatrie individuelle et sociale, où la thérapeutique de groupe tient lieu de méthode fondamentale, et où l'analyse des jeux forme un élément majeur du traitement. Le docteur Berne montre en outre comment ce concept peut aider à prendre une nouvelle conscience de soi, ainsi qu'à mener une existence plus constructive. Ce livre sur la programmation shell s'adresse aux utilisateurs et administrateurs des systèmes Unix/Linux souhaitant se former à l'écriture de scripts shell. Les fonctionnalités des shells ksh 88 et 93, bash, ainsi que de leur prédécesseur le shell Boume sont détaillées et leurs différences signalées. Les thèmes sont présentés de manière progressive et pédagogique, ce qui fait de cet ouvrage un support idéal destiné aussi bien à la formation professionnelle qu'à l'autoformation.
Les premiers chapitres sont consacrés au fonctionnement du shell : lancement d'une commande, caractères spéciaux du shell couramment employés (redirections, tubes...), paramé-trage de l'environnement de travail de l'utilisateur (variables et fichiers d'environnement...). Les mécanismes internes sont expliqués en détail et illustrés par de nombreux schémas. La suite de l'ouvrage est dédiée à la programmation proprement dite.
Les bases de la programmation (variables, structures de contrôle, commandes de test et de calculs...) sont présentées et illustrées par de nombreux exemples. Sont ensuite détaillés les aspects avancés de la programmation shell (gestion des fichiers, fonctions...). La dernière partie de l'ouvrage traite des outils annexes indispensables au traitement de chaînes de caractères et de fichiers texte : les expressions régulières basiques et étendues, l'éditeur non interactif sed, un panorama étendu du langage awk enrichi de fonctionnalités gawk, ainsi que les principales commandes filtres des systèmes Unix.
Le chapitre Comment faire ... résume les principales problématiques et présente différentes méthodes de résolution. Des exercices permettront au lecteur de pratiquer l'écriture de scripts shell tout au long de l'ouvrage. Les solutions sont présentées dans le dernier chapitre. L'été circulaire est un roman âpre et sombre, portrait implacable des "petits Blancs", ces communautés périurbaines renfermées sur elles-mêmes et apeurées. L'écriture acérée, la narration tendue imposent d'emblée le talent de Marion Brunet.

Presenting the most in-depth work in English on the Fraternitas Saturni, Stephen Flowers examines the history of the Order from the mid-1920s to the late 1960s when the Order was fundamentally reformed. He details their path of initiation, secret doctrines, ritual practices, and magical formulas and offers biographies of the Order’s most prominent members, including founder Gregor A. Gregorius, Karl Spiesberger (Frater Eratus), Albin Grau (Master Pacitius), and Franz Saettler (Dr. Musallam). Exploring the Brotherhood’s guiding principles, he shows that at the heart of Saturnian ideology is the idea of Saturn-Gnosis: the interplay of opposing forces in the universe leading to the realization of the individual self as a god-like entity. He examines the Order’s teachings on cosmology, the Kabbalah, the Saturnian Sacraments, electrical magic, sexo-cosmology, sex-magic rites, and sexual mysticism--the Yoga of the Dark Light--and transcribes many of their actual rituals and practices, including the highly controversial Gradus Pentalphae, in such detail that readers will be able to undertake their own experiential work.
