Welcome to the NHK is one of my favourite anime, and is indeed a favourite among many anime fans worldwide. Approaching four years in his state of withdrawal from the outside world, he comes to a conclusion. The anime expands on the original short novel's story to include a number of side-plots which will resonate with anyone who has ever been underemployed, friendless, and poor. Yes, otakus who are obsessed with anime, manga, and video games. I finally finished reading the Welcome to the NHK english novel translation, and felt rather moved by it. It should be noted that, despite the title of the show, the network NHK never actually aired “Welcome to the NHK.” Thus, unlike the novels, the show does not explicitly link the NHK conspiracy to the NHK television network.
